Love. Thy. Neighbor.

The second greatest command occurs in the Bible not once, not twice, but four times — Matthew 22:37-39, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27, and way back in Leviticus 19:18. And that’s only the specific phrase; the passages in the Law, the Prophets, the Gospels, and the Epistles on loving people in God’s name is vast.

When God gets repetitive, we pay attention.

That’s why we’re taking the month of November to center the second command. It’s on the nose and in the title — we’re loving our neighbor this November. We’d love for you to join us!

Won’t you be our neighbor?

Did you know the very beloved Mr. Rogers was also a Presbyterian minister? We’re taking a cue from our fellow Presby and, for the month of November, we are hoping to tend to our neighborhood. We’d love it if you joined us! After all, Jesus follows up that “love your neighbor” bit in the gospel of Luke with the parable of the Good Samaritan — which tells us that anyone and everyone are our neighbors, even the people we haven’t met yet!

We have acts of Service (predominantly our Blessing Bags on the 16th) and acts of Connection — challenge cards, Bible studies out about town, and more. However you’re showing up, we’re honored to put a little more love into the world with you (and hopefully make Jesus smile).
